Porcelain Veneers, Crowns and Bridges
Veneers are considered to be the state-of-the-art cosmetic treatment and are the answer to creating the perfect smile you have always wanted. Think of veneers as the equivalent of ‘false nails’ for teeth. Veneers only cover the front surface of a tooth and are bonded directly onto the surface of your existing teeth; minimal preparation is required and in some cases no preparation is even necessary.
Veneers are designed so that the style, shape and colour can be completely unique to you. They can be used to alter various defects including closing gaps, rectifying crowded and protruding teeth, as well as whitening discoloured teeth. They are individually handcrafted by our highly skilled professional cosmetic technicians.
Porcelain Crowns
The difference between a crown and a veneer – a crown covers all surfaces of a tooth. Crowns can be used to enhance the strength of a tooth if it has been fractured or badly broken down. If a tooth has been heavily restored with a dark filling and you are looking to improve the aesthetic appearance then a crown may be the more suitable treatment option. The materials used to construct a crown are the same, strong materials used with veneers and look just as healthy and natural. The size, shape and colour are designed to match either your own existing teeth or can be customised to create a new smile makeover.
Porcelain Bridges
If you have one or more teeth missing then a dental bridge can be used to replace the gaps. Having a missing tooth can be traumatic, especially if it affects your speech as well as your appearance. Once a tooth is lost, the remaining teeth become strained as there is an increased pressure forced on them by your bite. They may also start to move around, which can cause food-trapping.
A false tooth is placed into the gap and anchored from adjacent teeth, there are various types of bridges used. Our Cosmetic Dentists will discuss all of the options with you during your consultation.
